Item 8.01  Other Events.

On November 17, 2022, the American Equity Investment Life Holding Company (the "Company") Board of Directors declared a $0.02 per share increase in the annual cash dividend to Company common stockholders (after this increase, $0.36 per share) as of the close of NYSE trading on November 28, 2022, payable December 13, 2022.
